2-days, 1-night. Tuition: $225 per person. A terrific choice for those having little camping experience. Location: Madison, GA. Start time: Sat, 10 a.m. End time: Sun, 1 p.m. Class size: 8 max. Adults & ages 15-17 w/parent. There will be several survival challenges during the class and a written test will be administered near the conclusion. A top scorer will be awarded bragging rights and a nice prize. Each student successfully completing the class will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Bottled water will be provided and bathroom facilities are available in our nearby cabin. CURRICULUM
Students will learn proper preparedness and the knowledge, skills, and techniques associated with the seven survival priorities: Positive Mental Attitude, Wilderness First Aid, Shelter, Fire, Signaling, Water, and Food. Short-term and long-term survival will be be discussed. Contents of a personal survival kit will be taught. And improvisation and its creative aspects will be emphasized. WILD WISDOM
3-days, 2-nights. Tuition: $300 per person. A great choice for those having camped maybe once or twice or twenty times OR never at all. An extra day and night, longer than the Survival 101 class. Add in preserving meat (making jerky) and making slingshots and a slingshot competition. Location: Madison, GA. Start time: Fri, 10 a.m. End time: Sun, noon. Class size: 8 max. Adults & ages 15-17 w/parent. There will be several survival challenges during class and a written test will be administered near the conclusion. A top scorer will be awarded bragging rights and a nice prize. Each student successfully completing the class will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Bottled water will be provided and an indoor bathroom facilities are available in our nearby cabin. BARE BONES
A bodacious choice of class. Personal tents and hammocks allowed? No. Students will build and sleep in improvised shelters. Are personal backpacks allowed? No. Students will improvise backpacks. Are sleeping pads allowed? No. Students will build insulation beds. Can students bring all the food they want? No. Limited rations will be issued. Coffee, tea, and cocoa will be offered. Will students be issued bottled water? No. Water will be procured from natural sources and filtered and disinfected when required. Map and compass navigation through the brush. Two camps. Fire-by-friction. Fishing. Traps & snares. And assorted survival skills and techniques and such. A team atmosphere will prevail. 3-days, 2-nights. Tuition: $325 per person. Location: Mitchell, GA. Start time: Fri, 10 a.m. End time: Sun, noon. Class size: 6 max. Adults, 18+. There will be survival challenges during class and a written test will be administered near the conclusion. THE 2025 ITC
A week-long Instructor Training Class conducted once a year for those with a desire to instruct others in wilderness survival and/or have a desire to create their own survival school. Having survival knowledge and skills is a good thing. Having the ability to share and disseminate such information to a group of individuals in a formidable and pleasing manner is a whole different matter. This is where Byron can help.
