ITC - 2019
Once a year, we conduct a week-long Instructor Training Course (ITC). It is a very unique course offered for those who have a desire to start a survival school of their own, or they wish to become a better, polished instructor. It's one thing to know an assortment of survival skills, but teaching them in a proper and successful manner is a completely different matter, This is where Byron's experience can help. Having started two schools from scratch, having been recognized as one of the top ten instructors in the U.S., having trained two of the top ten, and having been a USAF SERE Instructor, having trained more than 800 small groups in a wilderness setting, and knowing all the ins and outs of establishing a survival school, these are the many facets he brings to the table. Learn how to establish your own LLC and establish a school, learn how to locate and achieve viable training areas, establish a web site presence and design pages, gain access to liability insurance, create lesson plans, design courses, manage and guide small groups, and most importantly, how to teach the survival skills he will share with you. It's only a week-long course, but it is a busy one. Each day is spent half in the woods and half in the class room. There are nightly lesson plans you will be tasked to write, and daily presentations to the group - with critical evaluations by Byron and your fellow students. It's intense, yet serious but fun. A cabin will be our base camp with wilderness nearby. On the last night there will be a dinner celebration / graduation ceremony. Interested? Give Byron a shout. The 2019 ITC will be conducted June 3-9. Late afternoon arrival on Sunday, June 2, is encouraged. The course location will be north Georgia. A required gear list will be provided prior to your registration, and your slot may be reserved with a $300 tuition deposit.
