All gear will be carried in pockets, in a fanny pack or small
waist pack, and in an improvised pack utilizing a pack strap.
The improvised pack and pack strap will be made near the
vehicle parking area from issued para cord, issued shelter
material, and issued Gorilla tape. A demo will be provided
by the instructor. Gear will be searched for contraband.

One blanket (no bright colors)
One water bottle or canteen
Water purification tablets
Flashlight or headlamp w/spare batteries
Flint (ferrocerium) fire starter
Poncho (Olive drab or camoflauge)
Two bungi cords
Compass
Knife or knives
Military-style canteen cup or metal cup for cooking
Whistle and mirror
12"x12" piece of tin foil
Insect repellent
Personal hygiene kit (i.e., toothbrush, etc.)
Hat and/or bandana
Pen or pencil and notepad
Extra socks and underwear
Appropriate footwear
Appropriate clothing for evasion phase (no bright colors)
Prescription eyewear
Personal first aid kit
Personal bee sting kit - if allergic reaction to bees indicated on Health History Form
Personal prescribed medication(s) - if indicated on Health History Form
