About the Survival Instructor Training Course.
Learn how to be a better survival instructor from a bodacious dude that's been doing it successfully for a very long time. Not one school, but two.
Share in the knowledge and skills and experience gained from a graduate and instructor at the prestigious US Air Force Survival School. Not to
mention his forty-years of teaching experience ... from Boy Scouts to fighter pilots to Navy SEALs and every description of human in-between.
If you have a hankering to open your own school one day, now's your chance to learn from one of the best. Or, if you plan to have or do have a
current position teaching others the art of wilderness survival, take advantage of this opportunity to better your skills and your teaching methods.

The Basic Game Plan.
On Day 1, students will establish a Base Camp. Proper establishment of a group camp, including erection of a parachute canopy, will be
accomplished. Students will be issued para cord, shelter material, area topographic maps, and rations. Base Camp will be utilized for over-
nights on Day 1, Day 5, and Day 6. For ease of creating lesson plans on Days 5 and 6, camp chairs will be provided at Base Camp. Students
will be tasked with improvising a camp table. Days 2, 3, and 4 will be spent out in the bush; map and compass treks of 3 - 5 miles each day.
Our first meal will be on the evening of Day 2: a “Cup of Noodles" and a rabbit. On the morning of Day 3, students will be allowed to begin eating
their ration of Power Bars and Slim Jims. The evening meals for Day 3, 4, and 5: “Cup of Noodles.” Jerky will be made on the evening of
Day 4. Days 5 and 6 will be spent creating lesson plans and students will teach assigned subjects. On the evening of Day 6, we will celebrate
with steaks, baked potatoes, vegetables, and maybe some beer and/or wine. Its unknown what the weather will be like. For sure, it will be hotter
in the meadows than in the woods.

The Curriculum.
The skills and knowledge of the seven priorities will be taught by the instructor: Positive Mental Attitude/the psychology of survival, Wilderness
First Aid, Shelter, Firecraft, Water, and Food. Map & compass will be taught, as well as traps & snares. Students will field dress a rabbit and
cook it over the fire on a spit and also preserve meat by making jerky. Various kinds of shelters will be built. Students will be able to build a
knee-high fire in the pouring rain using flint & steel - the benchmark of a USAF SERE Instructor. Individual improvised gear projects will be
assigned throughout the week. Students will learn how to create lesson plans. Instructor teaching skills will be honed. Evaluations will be
provided by the instructor and fellow students. It will be a busy week.
